This rich and gooey skillet chocolate cookie is perfect for Valentine’s Day. It’s baked in a single pan and topped with heart decorations for a romantic and playful touch. Serve it warm with ice cream or enjoy by the spoonful—it’s a love-at-first-bite kind of dessert.
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Heart sprinkles or strawberry slices (for decorating)
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture.
4. Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and white chocolate chips, if using.
5. Grease your skillet lightly, then press the dough evenly into it.
6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–23 minutes, or until golden on the edges and slightly soft in the center.
7. Let the cookie cool for 5–10 minutes, then top with heart sprinkles or sliced strawberries in heart shapes.
Notes
Use a well-seasoned cast iron skillet for the crispiest edges and chewy center.
Let the cookie cool slightly before decorating to avoid melting the toppings.
To reheat leftovers, microwave slices for 10–15 seconds for gooey texture.
