Description
This Copycat Olive Garden Alfredo Sauce is rich, creamy, and packed with buttery Parmesan flavor. It comes together on the stovetop in minutes and tastes delicious tossed with fettuccine, spooned over chicken, or served with your favorite pasta for an easy restaurant-style dinner at home.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups heavy cream
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup freshly grated Romano cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
2 tablespoons chopped parsley, optional
Instructions
1. Place a medium saucepan over low heat and add the butter. Let it melt completely without browning.
2. Pour in the heavy cream, then stir in the minced garlic, garlic powder, and black pepper.
3. Warm the mixture over low heat for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring often. Do not let it boil.
4. Add the Parmesan and Romano cheeses a little at a time, whisking after each addition until melted and smooth.
5. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
6. Taste and add salt if needed. Stir in chopped parsley if using, then serve immediately.
Notes
Freshly grated cheese melts much more smoothly than pre-shredded cheese.
Keep the heat low the entire time so the sauce stays silky and does not separate.
If the sauce thickens too much, stir in a splash of warm cream or milk before serving.
