Description

Coquito is a rich, creamy Puerto Rican holiday drink made with coconut milk, cream of coconut, warm spices, and rum for a smooth festive sip that is perfect for parties, gifting, or cozy nights in.


Ingredients

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 can evaporated milk

1 can cream of coconut

1 can coconut milk

1 cup white rum

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

1 cinnamon stick


Instructions

1. Add the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream of coconut, coconut milk, rum, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves to a blender.

2. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.

3. Taste and adjust the spice or rum if needed.

4. Pour the mixture into a glass bottle or pitcher and add the cinnamon stick.

5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until thoroughly chilled.

6. Shake or stir well before serving.

7. Pour into small glasses and garnish with extra cinnamon if desired.

Notes

Use cream of coconut, not coconut cream, for the classic sweet and silky texture.

Chill the Coquito well before serving so the flavors meld and the drink thickens slightly.

Always shake the bottle before serving since natural separation happens in the fridge.
