Ingredients

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

1 drop pink or red food coloring, optional

1 1/2 cups whipped topping, plus more for garnish

1 prepared 9-inch chocolate cookie pie crust

1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes

2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips, optional


Instructions

1. Beat the softened cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth and creamy.

2. Add the powdered sugar and peppermint extract, then mix until fully combined.

3. Blend in the food coloring if using, just until the filling reaches a light festive shade.

4. Fold in the whipped topping gently until the mixture is fluffy and smooth.

5. Stir in the crushed peppermint candies and mini chocolate chips if using.
