Description

This Easy Pecan Pie Bark has all the buttery, caramel-like flavor of pecan pie in a crisp, snackable form. It is simple to make, easy to break into pieces for sharing, and perfect for dessert trays, holiday platters, or a sweet treat with coffee.

Ingredients

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

1/4 cup light corn syrup

2 tablespoons heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups pecan halves, roughly chopped

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a rimmed baking sheet or jelly roll pan with parchment paper.

2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry and place it on the prepared pan. Gently roll it slightly if needed to even the shape.

3. Prick the pastry all over with a fork to prevent too much puffing.

4. Bake the pastry for 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly golden and just beginning to firm up.

5. While the pastry bakes, add the melted butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, heavy cream, vanilla extract, salt, and chopped pecans to a saucepan over medium heat.

6. Stir for 2 to 3 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes glossy and bubbly.

7. Remove the pastry from the oven and spread the warm pecan mixture evenly over the top.

8. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the topping is bubbling and the edges are deep golden.

9. Cool completely in the pan until the topping sets.

10. Break or cut into pieces and serve.

Notes

Use parchment paper so the sticky topping lifts away cleanly after cooling.

Let the bark cool completely before breaking it apart so the topping sets properly.

For extra flavor, sprinkle a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt on top right after baking.
