Description
This Gluten-Free Chocolate Mug Cake is a warm, rich single-serve dessert made in minutes with simple pantry ingredients. It has a soft, tender texture, deep chocolate flavor, and the kind of quick comfort that makes it perfect for busy evenings, late-night cravings, or anytime you want an easy gluten-free treat without baking a full cake.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons gluten-free all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon mini chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Add the gluten-free flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt to a microwave-safe mug. Stir well until evenly combined.
2. Pour in the milk, vegetable oil or melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until the batter is smooth and no dry spots remain.
3. Mix in the mini chocolate chips.
4. Microwave on high for 60 to 75 seconds, until the top looks just set and the center is still soft.
5. Let the mug cake rest for 1 minute before serving. Enjoy warm straight from the mug.
Notes
Do not overcook the mug cake or it can turn dry very quickly.
Use a gluten-free all-purpose flour blend meant for baking for the best texture.
Let the cake rest for 1 minute after microwaving so the crumb can settle and the chocolate stays soft.
