Description
Open Face Garlic Toast Sloppy Joes are a bold twist on the classic, made with rich, tangy beef piled high on golden garlic toast and finished with melty cheddar. A quick, hearty dinner you can whip up in under 30 minutes that’s guaranteed to satisfy.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
1/3 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper, to taste
6 slices frozen garlic Texas toast
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until beef is browned and onions are soft. Drain excess grease.
2. Reduce heat to low and stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
3. While the sauce simmers, bake the garlic toast according to package instructions until golden and crisp.
4. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto each slice of garlic toast. Top with shredded cheddar and return to oven for 2-3 minutes to melt cheese.
5. Serve immediately with your favorite sides like salad, roasted veggies, or potato wedges.
Notes
Use thick garlic toast for best results—it won’t get soggy.
Make the meat filling ahead for easier meal prep.
Swap cheddar with provolone or pepper jack for variety.
