Description

Smoked Salmon & Avocado Toast is a fresh, satisfying dish that comes together in minutes but feels special enough for brunch. Crisp toasted bread, creamy mashed avocado, silky smoked salmon, and bright toppings like lemon, capers, and dill make every bite rich, balanced, and full of flavor.


Ingredients

2 slices sourdough bread

1 ripe avocado

4 ounces smoked salmon

1 tablespoon cream cheese

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon olive oil

1 tablespoon thinly sliced red onion

1 tablespoon capers

1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill

1 pinch sea salt

1 pinch black pepper

1 lemon wedge for serving


Instructions

1. Toast the sourdough bread until golden brown and crisp.

2. Scoop the avocado into a small bowl and add the lemon juice, olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper. Mash until mostly smooth with a little texture remaining.

3. Spread the cream cheese evenly over each slice of toast.

4. Spoon the mashed avocado over the toast and spread it from edge to edge.

5. Layer the smoked salmon on top of the avocado.

6. Finish with red onion, capers, and chopped dill.

7. Serve with a lemon wedge and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Use a sturdy bread like sourdough or rye so the toast stays crisp under the toppings.

Mash the avocado just before serving for the freshest color and flavor.
