Description
A warm, buttery Strawberry Dump Cake is one of the easiest desserts you can bake, but it still tastes comforting and special. Sweet strawberry filling bubbles underneath a golden cake topping, making every spoonful soft, fruity, and perfect for serving with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
1 box yellow cake mix
2 cans strawberry pie filling, 21 ounces each
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract, optional
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly into the baking dish.
3. Scatter the sliced fresh strawberries over the filling, then drizzle in the vanilla extract and almond extract if using.
4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the strawberry layer without stirring.
5. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much of the surface as possible.
6. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until the top is golden and the filling is bubbling around the edges.
7. Let the cake rest for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
8. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
Use cold fresh strawberries for the best texture and flavor.
Drizzle the butter as evenly as possible so the topping bakes up golden instead of patchy.
Let the cake rest before serving so the filling thickens slightly and scoops more cleanly.
