Description

The Best Beef Bowl Recipe is a quick and satisfying meal made with tender slices of beef, fluffy jasmine rice, crisp vegetables, and a savory homemade sauce. It is perfect for busy weeknights, easy meal prep, or any time you want a hearty bowl packed with bold flavor and fresh texture.

Ingredients

1 pound flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced

2 cups cooked jasmine rice

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 teaspoons sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 teaspoon sriracha

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

1 cup shredded carrots

1 cup sliced cucumber

1 avocado, sliced

2 green onions, sliced

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

1 tablespoon chopped cilantro

Instructions

1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain and pat it dry with paper towels.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, sriracha, garlic, and ginger.

3. In another small bowl, stir together the cornstarch and water to make a slurry.

4. Heat the olive oil and sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

5. Add the beef and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until browned and nearly cooked through.

6. Pour the sauce into the skillet and toss to coat the beef evenly.

7. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.

8. Divide the warm rice between serving bowls.

9. Top each bowl with the beef, carrots, cucumber, avocado, green onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro.

10. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Slice the beef as thinly as possible for the most tender texture.

Cook the beef in a hot skillet so it sears quickly instead of steaming.

Store the fresh toppings separately if making the bowls ahead for meal prep.
