Ingredients
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup unsalted butter softened

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 to 4 tablespoons heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
2 tablespoons chopped peanuts optional
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat the butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
5. Add the dry ingredients in three additions, alternating with the buttermilk, and mix just until combined.
6. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
7. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
8. To make the frosting, beat the butter and peanut butter until smooth, then mix in the powdered sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt until creamy.
9. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake and top with chopped peanuts if desired.
10. Slice and serve.
